“Two drifters, off to see the world.  There’s such a lot of world to see.”

This is the story of two people who love to travel.  We’ve gone on a lot of vacations over the years but we decided to make 2012 our BIG year.  We made the leap from California to explore South America, USA, Europe, India, Southeast Asia and China.  One thing led to another and 2012 turned into 2013 and we just couldn’t stop. We’ve finally set down some roots in one of our favorite cities, New York, an excellent base from which to plan more travels. This blog is a journal for us to record and share all our experiences.  Hopefully you will enjoy some of the adventure too.

Mi sobrino chupa media (or I kinda like sock licker) and Carmen,
I loved your tango entry and the play by play that we could try it at home! You both tell your stories so beautifully that we all wished we were there or kind of feel like we got to experience some of it. I am hungry and up for a good piece of pizza.
Take care and looking forward to what you do next. Love, Holly

My dear sock licker, It is not a very endearing name for one of my favorite grandsons. I think I prefer teacher’s pet. We appreciate Holly keeping us updated on your blog. Grandpa found the entry about the food most interesting but I loved the street tango. Loved Carmen’s shoes and hope we can see them. How was your visit with Teresa and Jack. Love you, Grandma

    Buenos dias ninos,
Me gustas sus cartas, son muy informativo! Carmen don’t wear those shoes out – I want to see them. I want to go home and play some tango music on the piano right now. I’ll practice up on it so you can give us a show! Love you both, Su Abuelo

    • End? We are not even half way! We still have India, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and 2 months in Southern China. And…once a traveler always a traveler: we are moving to Europe next summer.

  9. I’ve been following your blog for a bit and I’m really enjoying it. Your photography is great and I would be honored if you would consider entering my photo contest over at wickedforeign.com. I’m looking for photos of the most interesting doors and windows that people have captured on their travels. I look forward to seeing your pics!

  10. I really love your blog..inspiring me to add more and more places to visit. I’ll be visiting Scandinavian countries and Turkey, including Cappadocia..your writing about it makes me more excited to go :)
The question is, so when are you coming to my country, Indonesia?

    • Thank you for your compliments. We would love to visit Indonesia. Unfortunately we did not plan it into this trip, but we will be definitely visiting during our next trip to Southeast Asia. Do you have any must-see recommendations?

  12. Yes, there is so much to see out there with so little time, thus we need to start making those dream travels come true. I am happy for you both. You follow the passions that makes you feel alive from within.

  13. Hello! I’m doing an art project for a friend of mine, and I was wondering if I could use one of your pictures from San Francisco as a reference. Its not for publication or anything, just for decorating her home with! I’m doing a water-colour triptych of three different parts of San Francisco, and your picture of a few Victorian style houses in the hills of SF are a great (prettier) version of her neighbourhood. I’d like to post a picture of the completed drawing on my portfolio, and of course I’d reference you- but if that’s not okay I totally understand!

    Thanks for your time,
    Amy
